Cicadas and leafhoppers belong to the same superfamily called Cicadoidea. Cicadas belong to the family Cicadidae, and leafhoppers belong to the family Cicadellidae.

i love cicadas and those kind live near me . i catch them every year. They are sooo buitiful! I also make houses for them.

Nice photo. You can see the resemblance between the two species. I didn’t know they were the same superfamily. I imagine the leafhoppers are quieter. Size difference is like a dog to an elephant.
