I agree Dave – went by geography and chose T. pruinosa. I have heatd T winnemanna in North Carolina and it is difficult to tell them apart.
However, as far as we know T. winnemanna sounds the same, so without knowledge of either morphology (usually) or geography, you can’t be sure which one it is. Chicago is supposed to be pruinosus.
Sounds like a loud chorus of Tibicen pruinosa.
